Purchase of Shares for the Legal & General Employees' Share Ownership Trust

Legal & General Group Plc announces that on 2 May 2010, the trustees of the Legal & General Employees' Share Ownership Trust (ESOT) have purchased 563,404 Ordinary shares of 2.5p each. The price paid was 85.93p per share.

These shares were acquired to satisfy needs arising under existing employee share schemes in which employees and executive directors participate.
