In accordance with the provisions of Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, Legal & General Group Plc ("the Group") has been advised today that as at 13 June 2005 Barclays , through the legal entities listed below, had a notifiable interest in 196,822,027 ordinary shares of 2.5p of the Group which represented 3.03% of the issued share capital.
